SUMMARY:
Insuring compliance with physicians’ orders and coordinating/integrating health care service delivery as well as following established policies and procedures, assists consumers and staff to attain and maintain optimum health by assessing individual health care needs, directing and providing direct health care, training staff and planning for additional health care needs
 
 
REPORTS TO: Principal/Administration
 
 
DUTIES:
    1.             Oversees completion of comprehensive assessments to Identify health care needs of consumers.
 
    2.             Oversees delivery of health care services to ensure coordinated, integrated care
 
    3.             Provides day-to-day supervision and oversight of nursing staff including but not limited to recruitment, training and performance management.
 
      4.             Assigns nurses as needed ensuring adequate coverage
 
      5.             Schedules/conducts training as needed to various audiences
 
      6.             Liaisons with other health care professionals/families to coordinate care as needed
 
      7.             Provides direct health care as needed
 
      8.             Serves as Coordinator for Agency’s wellness initiatives for staff including but not limited to health fairs and on-site clinics (e.g. flu shots).
 
      9.             Participates in CPNJ QI initiatives by collecting and reporting relevant QI indicators, takes action to modify trends as indicated
 
      10.          Participates in budgeting process, monitoring and reporting as it relates to health care needs
 
      11.          Provides training and other pertinent health care information for staff on issues concerning health care on a regular and as-needed basis; participates in orientation relating general health care information
 
      12.          May participate in site visits, intake evaluations, initial and subsequent planning meetings
 
13.Assists in interpretation of health care trends and requirements; assists staff with health related questions and concerns, advises managers on problems arising out of individual employee circumstances
 
14.Designs systems to meet health care; maintains computerized records files; responds to internal and external inquiries concerning health related issues
 
15.Ensures quality by conducting program self assessments, overseeing outcomes management system, participating in internal audits, producing surveys and developing action plans
 
16.Provides information to and participates in development, implementation, monitoring, assessment and amendment of health care policies and procedures; reviews health care practices; communicates and interprets policies to staff
 
17.May administer prescribed medication to students and first aid to students or staff; refers students or staff to hospitals/ clinics/ physicians for more extensive treatment; supervises immunization and other direct health care procedures
 
18.Develops, enacts, trains, monitors and insures compliance with policies and procedures relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA): serves as HIPAA Privacy Officer and Security Officer
 
19.Serves as a senior manager of CPNJ; attends regular management, policy and supervisory meetings; participates in various management assignments; attends management training sessions and trains staff
 
20.Serves on Human Rights and Behavior Support Committees
 
21.Accepts, utilizes and supports the work of volunteers
 
22.Performs other functions as appropriate
 
  
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; State of NJ Board of Nursing licensure as a Registered Nurse; NJ Department of Education certification as a school nurse; at least three years experience in a hospital, school setting or other facility; at least three year’s experience in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience; reliable transportation
